About Us

Established in 2009

Sonny's bar and restaurant inhabits the grand historic space that was the Portland Savings Bank. Built after the great fire of 1866, the building is perhaps the finest example of ornate antebellum architecture in the city.

Sonny’s is open 7 days a week for dinner at 4pm & brunch on Saturday, Sunday and Monday 10am-3pm. The bar is open 7 nights a week until 1 am.

New World Cuisine

Chef-owner Jay Villani continues the farm to table tradition established at Local 188.
Chef de Cuisine Paul Tuck and Sous Chef Kat Lamont infuse local ingredients with the flavors of Brazil, Peru, Mexico and the Southwest.

The Bar

Christina Klein is the creative force behind Sonny's cocktail program. The beer selections reflect a love affair with American microbrews featuring a variety of local drafts and bottles.
